We stayed in Herriman this Memorial Day Weekend. We had a lot of yard work to do and so we choose to stay and get some stuff done, however we did have to have some fun.
We went to the Zoo on Saturday with our good friends Scott and Amy. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it (Well Colton and Paige did). Maddie has been complaining that her legs hurt so she was not getting out of the stroller. We tired but she would not move. The kids favorite part were the monkeys. The Gorilla had a basket that must of had food in it or something because he would pick it up look at it and then throw it, then walk over to it again and do the same thing. It was really funny. Then we walked over to another window and that monkey was just sitting right by the window and just breathing on the window. The kids were eye to eye with it and they thought that was really cool. Then we went to see the baby monkey and he would climb up the ropes and then push himself toward the window and scare the kids. I guess the monkey thought it was funny because he keep doing it and the kids keep laughing. Maddie had asked us all day long for a mask and I keep telling her that we would get it right before we left so we didn't have to carry it around all day. Well it should have got it at the beginning. She ran was so excited about it that she walked to the car and ran around outside after we got home the rest of the day and never complained about her legs again.
On Sunday we didn't do much. We went to church and then went to the In-Laws and hung out for a while.
Ben pulled our Patio apart a couple of weeks ago so on Monday he worked on finishing the new one that he has built himself. He has done a great job. We has a BBQ with our Scott and Amy again that afternoon. Later that afternoon we went to Nick's Birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Ben played tennis and the kids played at the playground. However Maddie really wanted to play tennis and so she sat and waiting for her dad to play with her. We had some dinner and then they went to play some more tennis. While I was waiting for Ben I was chasing Paige around. She ran out onto the tennis court and so I ran after her so that she didn't get hit by the ball. When I grapped her arm so decided to go limp and fling backwards and somehow got her legs wrapped around mine and we both fell. My poor Paige got the worst of the fall. I felt so bad and I believe I cried more then she did.
Other then Paige getting hurt we had a great weekend.
We did take some time to remember those that have passed on and remembered the good times we had with them. We miss our Grandpa Willie, Grandpa Parry, Grandpa Barker, Grandma Reeder, Uncle Paul, and my cousin Laura.

Soccer Season
Madisyn and Colton are playing Soccer this year for the first time and they are really enjoying it. Maddie is on a team with all boys but she loves it. The first couple of games were really fun to watch. Every time Maddie kicked the ball she would look over at me and Ben and do a Cheer. It was really funny. After a few weeks now she is cheering but only after she kicks the ball a few more times and was very close to making a goal in a game. Colton at first was a real go getter and was after the ball most of the time, but every time he got close the the making a goal a kid on his team would push him and then that kid would make the goal. He doesn't go after it as much anymore because he is really frustrated with being pushed so he just kind of runs around and will kick the ball occasionally.
Easter 2010
We were able to spend Easter in Malad with my family this year. It was a cold weekend but the kids had a lot of fun finding Easter eggs with their cousins.
We went into Allen Drug and got a picture taken with the Easter Bunny on Saturday. Paige wasn't so sure about the Bunny at first but by time we left she was loving the Bunny and did not want to leave.

Colton turns 4
Colton turned 4 in March. When we asked Colton what he wanted to do for his birthday he said he wanted to go to Boondocks or go to Malad. So we went to Malad for his birthday. On Friday before Coltons Birthday, we went Bowling with all the Willie's for Colton, Raychel and Kassidy's birthday. We had a lot of fun.
The night before his birthday we took him to Walmart to see what size of a bike he would need because he really wanted a bike that was not a girls bike for his birthday. While we were at Walmart we decided to buy him the bike that he liked there. I tried to distract Colton while Ben went and paid for the bike. Ben got it in the car and then we left and went outside. Luckily my parents were at Walmart at the same time so they were able to take Colton with them. Colton loves to ride with my parents and so that was not a problem. We then went to Melissa's house to have pizza. We ate our pizza and then headed to the bowling ally. After we were done bowling Colton went out to the car with this Dad. Ben put him in the front seat of the car and told him not to look back. Well Colton is 4 and looked back anyways. When Ben asked him what he saw he said "I saw a bike" and then Ben asked him who it was for he said "ME" and Ben told him it was for one of our nephews. He was then a little disappointed.
Saturday (which was his actual birthday) he opened up some presents that had clothes in it. I then went and got his bike and brought it out to him and he was way excited to see that the bike was for him and not Kole. He had to go out and ride it on Grandma's porch immediately
Some of the thins about Colton that we love (some we don't) but they are Colton:
-- He is very active
-- He is very loving.
-- He is VERY VERY LOUD
-- He is so funny. He comes up with the funniest things.
-- He loves his sisters.
-- He is all boy!!
Happy Birthday Colton. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Eric, Aly, Isabelle, and Gracie gave him this Coke Can Bank. When he opened it he thought it was a big Coke and was pretty excited. HE LOVES COKE!!!

Disneyland Day 4 and 5
Saturday we got the kids all dress in their rain gear and headed over to Target to see if we could find some shoes for Ben and while we were there we found rain boots that would fit the girls. Aly was there the night before and couldn't find any and apparently they had put some out over night. We got back to the hotel got our stuff ready and headed out for another day of Rain. We got to Disneyland took all the kids rain gear off because it wasn't raining, and went headed for the kid rides. We also went on Space Mountain. Maddie also did Space Mountain with us because when she got off she told me that she did not like that ride. We went and found some more Princesses and Fairies and has we walked out from seeing the Princesses it started to rain. We got all the kids dressed back in their rain gear and stepped out from under the tent and it stopped raining. So we undressed the kids again. Needless to say it did not rain for more then 5 minutes that whole day. The only good thing was that because of the forecast everyone stayed away from Disneyland so again there were no lines.

Sunday was the last day and it was very crowded. We hit a few rides that we really wanted to do again at California Adventures and then headed back over to Disneyland. We went on the train that went all around Disneyland. We had just gotten on the train and out of the corner of my eye and see a guy that looked totally familiar. I realized who it was and hit Eric would was two rows ahead of me to see if I was right on who I thought it was. It was the red-headed guy off Modern Family. We then went into Toon Town and Aly keep seeing him. Finally we left and went to go let the kids ride the Tea Cups one last time and while we were waiting me and Aly were trying to take pictures of a Parade that was coming by. Aly watched over toward the Matterhorn (which was not open while we were there) and saw him again, so she pretended to take a picture of the Matterhorn. It was so funny!!!
Later that night we head to the airport and were on our way home. We got home around 10:30 p.m. All the kids had fallen asleep on the plane and that made it interesting. Ben and Eric went to get the cars and left me, Aly, and Grandma Barker with the kids and Grandpa Barker was trying to get all our luggage(8 pieces in all). When Eric and Ben came back with the cars we were running to help with the luggage and help us get out with the kids. It was a lot of work but we did it.
We had a lot of fun and were so glad that we were able to take the kids to this year.
Monday morning Ben left Herriman at 6:00 in the morning to meet my Dad in Brigham to go get my Paige. I was so excited to see her. When he got her home she was so excited to see us and we were so excited to see her. However, she paid us back for leaving her for the rest of the week. She was a little on the cranky side.

Disneyland Day 3
Friday we had Breakfast with the Characters. The kids loved being able to see some of the Characters. Maddie and Colton danced with them and hugged them all. They were really into the Characters. We were able to find some more Princesses and Fairies and once again Maddie was in Heaven. We spend most of the day in the Rain. I t Rained on us all day (but there were no lines). We were soaked.
Maddie and Colton went on Thunder Mountain with us. We got off and Maddie informed us that she was not going to do that again. Colton went on it again with me, but after that he had enough. We went on Splash Mountain again because we figured we were already wet we might has well go on it again.
By time we got back to the hotel we were so soaked. Ben took all our clothes down to the laundry room at the hotel to wash them and forgot to get his phone out of his pants. Needless to say we ruined his phone. We tried to blow dry all the shoes, but they were so wet. Aly and her Mom went on a trip to find rain boots and rain coats because the Forecast for Saturday was not looking good. She went to Target (which was across the street from our hotel) and couldn't find anything for them so they got in a taxi and headed for Gymboree. She came back to the hotel about 2 or more hours later.
